YELLOW STRIPES
Glass tiles from Waterworks line the walls and flooring in the guest bathroom of this California country dwelling by designer Jay Jeffers. The space breaks up and add a note of whimsy.

WHIMSICAL COMBO
Graphic Escher tiles by Amethyst Artisan and zebra wallpaper lift a children' bathroom in an apartment decorated by Miles Redd.

INLAID BATHMATS
The guest bath from designer Betty Lou Phillips's French-style Dallas home was inspired by bathrooms in five-star hotel suites. The Monsieur and Madame "mats" are inlaid mosaics.

CEMENT STYLE
Cement flooring tiles pick up the gray and "add just the right amount of pattern," says designer Daleet Spector of the understated bath. "And they are cool and fresh on bare toes. The area is luxurious but in a really modern, understated manner."

MOSAIC "RUG"
"The first thing we shopped for was that bathtub," states Chicago-based designer Julia Buckingham. "It's the crown jewel." A "carpet" made from tile balances the focal point, "and you'll never should dry-clean it."
